Fruit Filled Dumplings
Ingredients: 2 16 oz can Cherries (or other fruit).
2 C Flour
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp Salt
Sugar
Water
Instructions: *For every can of fruit, you need a cup of flour, 1 egg, and 1/4 tsp of salt. Each 16 oz can of fruit makes 4 dumplings. The recipe above makes 8 dumplings. So adjust the recipe for your serving needs. Fruit Mixture- Mix fruit with a 1/4 cup flour (separate from flour listed above) and sugar to taste. Dough- Mix 2 C flour, 2 eggs, and 1/2 tsp salt. Add ~ 1-2 Tbsp of water to amake it into dough. Roll it out flat and cut into squares. Fill each square with fruit mixture (don't overfill). Pull corners of the dough together in the middle and pinch all sides shut sealing the fruit inside the dumpling. Bring water to a low boil in a stock pot with 1 tsp of salt mixed in. Put dumplings into stockpot by 4's and boil for ~15 minutes. Serve in Half and Half or milk mixed with melted butter.
